As you wait patiently weather fun, many upper Midwest bike riders are now changing their gear over to winter fun activities, including fat biking, ice fishing, skiing, snowshoeing and other cold weather sports. Bike Pic – Sept. 30, Open Streets Minneapolis

This participant above, like many others at Open Streets Minneapolis, on East Lake St., Aug. 2nd, found the event fun to bike, as many enjoyed the walk.

With eight locations to participate in this year, from June 7th, through September 26th, Open Streets Minneapolis was a huge success showcasing the communities of the city and their bike/walk programs. Along with miles of places to walk, Minneapolis offers bicyclist more than 118 miles of on-street bikeways and 92 miles of off-street bikeways. This multi-street event also demonstrates the many opportunities residents and visitors alike have for commuting options and fun places to go on a family bike ride.
