A right of passage for many, that spring is officially here, the Minnesota Ironman Bike Ride will be returning to Washington County Fairgrounds this Sunday. With clear skies predicted for 49th Annual event, registration is still open for all ages to enjoy. Riders can choose one or several of the 14, 27, 29 or 60 route loop options to ride in the scenic St. Croix River Valley.
This year’s, well supported, Ironman takes riders through the Minnesota communities of Afton, Oakdale, Scandia and Stillwater, on designated county roads, portions of the Gateway Trail and the new Browns Creek Trail. Along the way riders can stop periodically at rest stops, with many tasty treats to enjoy.
Bicyclists on the ironman will start and end at the Washington County Fairgrounds, in Baytown Township. Signs will be posted on the route for the participants, including informational signs for the traveling public. Regarding the weather they are expecting a cool start and then warming up to low 60’s and no rain.
