Bike Pic Jan 17, Prep For This Up Coming Year on the Root River Trail

This Tuesday get out on a winter trail or on a stationary bike and get prepared for not one, but two bike rides in Minnesota we are co-sponsoring: The MN Ironman Bicycle Ride and The Root River Bluff & Valley Bicycle Tour. Photo above was taken last year on the Root River Trail as this ride participant, Marcy Kelash, was riding into Houston, MN. Registration will open February 1st for the Ironman.

Bike Pic Sept 30, Root River Trail is Open Once Again from Flooding

With the exception of a 50 foot length of blacktop between, Whalan and Peterson on the Root River Trail, the popular recreational trail survived the heavy rains and flooding last week. The MN DNR office announce that the trail completely open.

Also, the repaving of the trail between Peterson and Rushford planned, which was supposed to start on Monday, Oct. 3 will not happen until the spring of 2017. The contractor is way behind with other projects and did not want to rip up the trail if he couldn’t finish it this fall. His new completion date will be May 26, 2017.

Bike Pic September 22, Final ‘Taste of the Trail’ Along the Root River

Last chance for the Root River ‘Taste of the Trail, this Saturday, September 24th, on the east side between Houston and Rushford, MN. With the weather drying out it will be fun for the whole family with food samples and games while visiting the friendly Trail Towns along the Root River.

Bike Pic Sept 18, Sunday’s Miles of Bike Smiles Along the Trail

Sunday’s Miles of Bike Smiles photo shows a couple walking their bikes along the Root River Taste of the Trail in Whalan a couple weeks ago.
