SUMMARY:Wabash River Ride
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 42 years of cycling along the Wabash River Corridor
\, the Wabash River Ride takes place on August 29th\, 2020. From 7 a.m. to
5 p.m. join cyclists of all levels for a well-organized and supported bik
 e ride. Route options include a 33\, 47\, 66 or 100-miles tour through Tip
pecanoe\, Fountain\, and Warren counties.\n\nAlong the routes are scenes q
uite different from North-Central Indiana's typical landscape of corn and
soybeans. Here while riding view the Wabash River and Big Pine Creek. See
iconic landmarks such as the Fountain County Church\, historic Rob Roy Cov
ered Bridge\, the Shawnee (Williamsport) Bridge. Plus\, rolling hills arou
nd the river valleys that make for a fun and challenging century. Multiple
support vehicles will be patrolling the routes\, so you can ride with con
fidence.\nNew This Year on the Wabash River Ride - a Gravel Option!\nChoos
 e a 38-mile introductory route (35% gravel) or an 80-mile route (60% grave
l). Both traverse the quiet\, scenic views found along Warren County's cou
nty roads: Wabash Valley\, Big Pine Creek\, historic locations\, and sever
al NICHES Nature Preserves. Our gravel routes will cross with paved roads\
, including 2 Remote SAGs to fill your nutritional needs and visit with al
l cyclists.\n\nThese routes offer "faster" gravel conditions but note that
we recommend a minimum of 32 mm tire width to accommodate conditions that
are typical of the gravel scene - chunky gravel\, huge potholes\, and mud
. To maintain the organic spirit of the gravel scene\, we will not offer S
AG vehicle support on gravel routes\; please be prepared to carry the nece
ssary gear to fix anticipated mechanical issues. The gravel routes will NO
T BE MARKED\, although GPS files will be posted and route maps will be ava
ilable at the registration tent.\nPlease note\nIn the face of truly insurm
ountable mechanical issues or health concerns\, a number will be available
for you to contact our Ride Director for SAG assistance.\n***************
*************\n\nTo fuel your ride\, we’ll continue our renowned traditi
on of home-baked cookies and other sweet treats from our club members. Of
course\, we'll also have a variety of fresh fruit and salty snacks. For yo
