Bike ride explores the Root River Trail Towns from the road. Discover the scenic beauty as you ride your bike around Southeast Minnesota’s “driftless” area. Ride the Amish Buggy Byway and many low traffic county roads that dip in and out of the picturesque Root River Valley to visit the charming Trail Towns there. Starting in Whalan, next to Lanesboro, this three-day weekend bike tour visits the eight communities of the Root River Trail System. In each town riders will have a chance to sample some of the local fare, normally offered at the annual “Taste of the Trail” each September. A loop tour full of fun, food and adventure this bike adventure starts Friday morning on July 8th and ends Sunday, July 11, 2016, after an overnight camping or lodging stay in both Harmony and Houston.
