SUMMARY:24th Annual Gitchi-Gami Trail Association North Shore Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:The 24th Annual Gitchi-Gami Trail Association North Shore Bike 
 Ride will occur on Saturday\, August 17\, 2024. The recreational ride will
  again offer 55-mile\, 34-mile\, and 28-mile route options\, as well as an
  8-mile family ride on the trail. The 55-mile distance also uses connectin
 g roads.\nMore on the Gitchi-Gami Trail Shore Bike Ride\nStarting Point: G
 ooseberry Falls State Park\nStart Time: 9:00 am to 10 am\n\nParking for th
 e ride is located in a lot inside Gooseberry Falls State Park. Vehicles wi
 ll need an annual state park vehicle sticker or a daily vehicle pass. The 
 GGTA will provide a daily pass as part of the registration fee\, which is 
 good for entry to all state parks on that day.\n\nRefreshments will be pro
 vided at rest stops and post-ride. Mechanical\, emergency\, and sag suppor
 t will also be provided. All adult riders will receive T-shirts\, and youn
 ger riders will receive water bottles. All riders must sign waivers and we
 ar helmets.\n\n8-mile family ride option: The ride follows the GGST for 4 
 miles from Gooseberry to a rest stop at Twin Points Wayside\, where famili
 es can enjoy treats and special events. Then\, it returns on the GGST to G
 ooseberry.\n\n28-mile ride option: This ride is entirely on the GGST\, fro
 m Gooseberry through historic Split Rock Lighthouse State Park\, continuin
 g to the rest stop at the Beaver Bay Wayside\, and returning on the trail.
  Because it is an “out-and-back” ride\, bikers can turn around at any 
 time to return to the starting point.\n\n34-mile ride option: All on the t
 rail! Follow the GGST to the rest stop at Beaver Bay Wayside and continue 
 over the Beaver River Bridge on a separate trail. Turn left up the hill on
  the segment of GGT along the West Road and continue on the trail to Silve
 r Bay. From there\, turn around and retrace your path back to the rest sto
 p at Beaver Bay. Refuel\, and then the route returns to Gooseberry on the 
 trail.\n\n55-mile ride option: Follow the GGST to Beaver Bay Wayside\, con
 tinue on the trail over the Beaver River Bridge\, and leave onto the segme
 nt of trail alongside West Road. Continues to Silver Bay\, where you will 
 make a loop north\, beginning by turning left on Penn Avenue. Turning righ
 t onto Lax Lake Road\, you'll bike to the intersection with Hwy 1\, and yo
 u'll notice our newer rest stop at the Lax Lake Road Boat Access. On your 
 way back down the hill\, you will stay right to travel down Cty Rd 4 to re
 turn to the Beaver Bay Rest Stop\, and from there\, you'll head back to Go
 oseberry on the trail. We featured this new route for the first time in 20
 23\, and our riders enjoyed staying off of Hwy 1 and Hwy 61 road shoulders

 r person after that date. We offer a $10 discount to members\, so if you a
