DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the best of Northern Minnesota in the springtime by parti
 cipating in The Spring Bike Fling!\n\nStarting at Walker City Park\, on th
 e shores of beautiful Leech Lake\, take a ride through the Chippewa Nation
 al Forest on the Paul Bunyan Trail to Laporte (26 miles total round trip) 
 or a little further to Guthrie (40 miles total round trip).\n\nBoth rides 
 leave from the Walker City Park at 10 a.m. There will also be a free famil
 y ride of two-miles south along the Shingobee Connection Trail starting at
  10:30 a.m.\nThe 2020 Spring Bike Fling Details\nThe main rides will take 
 you first along the western shoreline of Leech Lake and Walker Bay. Then h
 eading northwest you will pedal by beautiful Kabekona Bay and Lake Benedic
 t. This ride is flat\, completely paved\, and as you pass from Cass Co. in
 to Hubbard County you will enjoy the tranquil countryside on the way to La
 porte.\n\nHere you can shop at the famous Laporte grocery store (they feat
 ure uniquely flavored frozen brats and ice cream)\; enjoy the hospitality 
 of the Popple Bar\, with its nice deck and view\; or the Third Base Bar an
 d Grill. There also is a park there with shade to relax in\, park your bik
 es\, and put your feet up!\n\nThose who are ambitious can bike a further 9
  miles to Guthrie where there will be refreshments in the small park there
 \, otherwise turn around and head back to sunny Walker!\nThe fun continues
  back in Walker\, MN\nOn your return\, we are having a celebration gatheri
 ng at Portage Brewery. A bike-friendly watering hole with a famous collect
 ion of craft brews. Food can be ordered there and delivered from Village S
 quare and the Piggy BBQ. Walker has several fine hotels\, motels and Bed a
