Walk/Hiking Opportunities

For hikers, enjoy easy access to the highly-rated Willard Munger Trail, the extensive Duluth trails, the award-winning Spirit Mountain Bike Park, Jay Cooke State Park, and the Lake Superior Hiking Trail, with a climb up to Ely Peak.

In winter, many trails are groomed for both cross-country skiing and hiking.

Places to Paddle

Both canoeing and kayaking are excellent ways to enjoy the water. Here in Lake County, you will find numerous places to paddle around.

For those who own their kayaks, the Two Harbors public boat launch on Lake Superior offers a designated kayak launch, making it safe and easy to get your kayak in the water.

For those who own their kayaks, see the Lake Superior State Water Trail. Get maps and more information for three of the five paddling segments of Lake Superior:
