With summer finally heating up, you can enjoy the history and beautiful scenery of southeastern Minnesota on this multi-day ride, August 8-11. The ride will start and end in Peterson, Minn. with a daily mileage average of 68 miles or less (Shorter options are available except for day four where the mileage is approx. 55 miles.) Along this scenic ride, you will enjoy the small town charm of Lanesboro, the Amish communities surrounding Harmony, and the down home hospitality of Caledonia.

The Mississippi River Ride I (Lake Itasca to Big Lake) was a great success and on August 31 through September 2nd, (over Labor Day weekend), you can enjoy the second leg of this historic bike/bus ride which follows the river's journey as it flows south to LaCrosse, Wisc. Leaving from Hastings, Minn. Saturday morning you can meander for three pleasurable days of river valley and bluff country riding. Camping and lodging opportunities will be available for those wishing to gather Friday evening, Aug 30th, before the ride. |

Team TIBCO Goes One-Two on Stage; Shelley Olds Wins Overall Title
It was a big day for Team TIBCO as Shelley Olds captured the overall victory, Claudia Hausler and Joanne Kiesanowski took first and second on the Stillwater Criterium stage, Hausler won the SportBeans Queen of the Hills competition, and Team TIBCO won the team classification.

Oh dear ... some bike racks are more secure than others.
In the recent flurry of local authority initiatives to promote cycling in Great Britian, the focus has been on junctions, cycle lanes, lorries and training. One question seems to be almost totally neglected: "Where could I keep a bike?" |

With pavement application expected before the end of June, cyclists will soon have a continuous bikeway in Minnesota from Saint Paul to downtown Minneapolis.
If all goes as planned, 2013 will see a record number of BWTC-funded non-motorized projects implemented in Minneapolis and surrounding communities. This year's project list includes six bicycle boulevards, four corridors with new bike lanes, several new sidewalks, and three model pedestrian-improvement projects at complex intersections. |

As bicycling continues to grow in popularity, leaders in cities across the country, like Grand Rapids, Minn., are embracing the environmental, financial and quality of life benefits that come with a population that likes to ride. Last week the League of American Bicyclists announced the latest round of Bicycle Friendly Communities (BFC) and Grand Rapids has been named a Bronze recipient of the award. |

We have 40 artists booked, including a giant catapult that launches magnetic LED lights, seven bands, and a lantern and puppet parade over the Sabo Bridge. PLUS there will be a beer garden this year!
