River and Rails Tour on the MRT

Experience the Mississippi River by bike this summer!

Join the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) as they "Bike the Trail and Ride the Rails" on The Mississippi River Trail (MRT) Three-Day Tour, August 28-30.

Be one of the first adventurers to pedal through the inviting small river-town communities of Hastings, Red Wing, Lake City, Winona, La Crescent, and La Crosse on the newly authorized MRT state bikeway. The tour will include three days and two nights of supported riding and camping for only $229!

Each night the tour will camp alongside the Mississippi in beautiful campgrounds where you can find a place to rest, shower, swim, and enjoy great entertainment. On the last evening, of the tour celebrate the 150-mile pedal with a delightful tour on the La Crosse Queen paddleboat.

Then,  step back in time and ride the Amtrak Empire Builder for an enjoyable train ride home while we all reflect on three wonderful days of biking.
