A big thank you to all the volunteers that made the bike sale another huge success. It took a lot of work by a lot of people to make it happen again in our fourth year. Volunteers baked cookies, made lemonade, stored bikes, moved bikes, worked on bikes, worked at the sale and promoted the sale. Plus, Famous Dave's donated lunch for those who helped.
And over the years Valley Bike and Ski has been very supportive. They give me a very nice discount on parts and all kinds of advice on how to fix things. They also fixed, at no charge, several bikes that were beyond my abilities. Thanks to Jeff and his crew at Valley Bike and Ski.
Since the June, 2011 sale, there were 155 bikes available. 29 bikes were sold prior to Friday, 5-25-12. At the Friday evening presale, we sold 18. On Saturday at the sale, we sold 50. 97 total bikes sold. After repair expense, total amount that will be given to Kids 'n Kinship is $7,789.00. and I donated 47 bikes to the Juvenile Diabetes Association garage sale that was at the River Hills area of Burnsville, this last Saturday.
Thanks you so much, without all of your efforts this would not happen for the Kids 'n Kinship and the many who are just starting out biking.
On behalf of Kids 'n Kinship- and all the youth who are and will be mentored because of the funds raised, we want to thank all of you for the work to make the sale such a success!
This was an unbelievable effort! I can't comprehend fixing up 155 bikes! And what a blessing to the Juvenile Diabetes Association to receive such a huge donation of bikes as well. Kids 'n Kinship is most appreciative of the funding this has raised and we are very much in need of the support to run the program. THANK YOU!
