Bike Walk Week Of Minnesota Offers a Full Lineup Of Fun June 2-10

Why not try something new? Travel a different way June 2-10, with Bike Walk Week. Put a little joy into your travel trip –try biking and walking. Organizers of the annual Twin Cities Bike Walk Week are asking for your pledge to replace at least one car trip with biking or walking during this year’s Bike Walk Week, June 2-10, 2012, in hopes that you’ll develop a new, more active routine for getting around. Even if you already bike or walk to get around, please sign up and be counted!

Last year more than 10,000 people took the Bike Walk Week pledge, choosing active transportation over car travel. They discovered the benefits –such as better health, money saved, and a healthier environment. Join them this year for Bike Walk Week events.

• Bike Walk Parade & Rodeo at Hamline Midway Heartwood Festival
• Minnetonka Bike Expo, Williston Fitness Center, Minnetonka

Sunday, June 3:
• Grand Old Day Parade & Booth on Grand Avenue in St. Paul

Monday, June 4th
• Meet Your Trail Watch, along the Midtown Greenway, Minneapolis
• Nice Ride Minnesota Launch Event in downtown Saint Paul

Tuesday, June 5:
• Tiny Trip Tuesday in Macalester Groveland

Wednesday, June 6:
• Women’s Wednesday in downtown Minneapolis

Thursday, June 7:
• Bike Walk to Work Day – Saint Paul Celebration, Rice Park in downtown Saint Paul
• Bike Walk to Work Day – Anoka Celebration, Anoka County Government Center, Anoka
• Bike Walk to Work Day – Minneapolis Celebration, Nicollet Mall outside Hennepin County Central Library, downtown Minneapolis
• Bike Walk to Work Day – Bloomington Celebration, REI (at Lyndale & 494), Bloomington

Friday, June 8
• The Bike Comics Show at Black Dog Café & Wine Bar in Saint Paul
• Bike-in Movie Night presented by Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library

Saturday, June 9
• Yoga on the Greenway at Midtown Greenway
• Confident Cycling at Hub Bike Center, U of MN
• Greenway Glow
• Northern Spark Festival

Sunday, June 10
• Open Streets on Lyndale Ave
