This summer pedal the scenic Minnesota River Valley and learn something about our state too! Did you know that: This ONE WAY ride will meander through the scenic Minnesota River Valley with an itinerary that allows you to see it in a whole new way! Imagine pedaling back 150 years into Minnesota's history and learning more about the families impacted by the US Dakota Conflict of 1862. Hear the stories of the small towns as you bicycle through; Montevideo (Monte), Granite Falls, Redwood Falls, New Ulm, Mankato, and back to St. Peter. As you ride over the three days, 1862 will slowly unfold as local historians and experts greet you and share the facts and unbiased account as you set foot on each location. This all-inclusive trek begins in St. Peter where we load you on a luxury motor coach and your bicycle is safely shipped for a trip to the community of Montevideo. Here you will be welcomed by the city and Monte's mayor while enjoying a festive BBQ lunch and gaining the first of many historical perspectives of the trip. With a short 15 mile pedal to Granite Falls you will be enjoy dinner entertained by the Upper Sioux drummers, singers, and entertainers. Each evening you will overnight at the following locations; the Prairie’s Edge Hotel, Jackpot Junction and lodging in New Ulm. Before completing your ride back to St. Peter on Sunday afternoon, the tour will stop in Mankato and enjoy the flavors of its 15th Annual Ribfest.
