With Summer winding down, and less than five days until the first race of the Minnesota High School League’s 2014 Mountain Bike Race schedule, it has been moved.

Due to construction at Salem Hills Elementary School, parking would not be available for the over 400 estimated racers and their families. So dust off those cowbells – race season in Minnesota will begin at  Buck Hill, in Burnsville!

Hutchinson’s girls team ready to race

Not only do we have new teams, but new communities as part of our league. To name a few: Mankato, Highland Park, Bemidji, Faribault, Mendota Heights and even Hudson, WI…since they are just over the border…

* Please Note: Race #4: Duluth moved to Mt. Kato
Due to unprecedented MN league growth, the league has decided to move the Duluth race to Mt. Kato, in Mankato, Minn. During their latest course check last week, it was apparent with the increase in ridership, the slated venue in Duluth did not meet the league’s needs.

The League states, “the number one goal is to provide a safe venue and race course. The MN league is working with various groups in Duluth, including the Duluth team, to help develop a venue for future seasons. The Minnesota High School Cycling League is a state wide organization and we are committed to holding races from border-to-border.
Mt. Kato will replace Duluth on the calendar. We will be using the standard course (not the varsity lap) from last season at Mt. Kato.”
